Fiery Gizzard Gold Rush

TWHBEA #20002993/CH
Chestnut Gelding
Markings:  Star

The Gold Rush Is On
x
Champion's Connection

about 18 months old

"Spencer's" schooling began soon after his birth with Imprinting. Later, he began ground work at the end of a halter and leadline. As he grew and his muscles and bones developed, he was worked in the round pen.  The foundation schooling has been so effective

that GW started riding him when Spencer was about 2 years  old.  The handsome colt has never offered to buck and is Walking true to the expectations of his owner... Carrying the mail, as some of the old-timer TWH people would say...

Isn't this young colt growing into quite a nice stallion?!

The summer of  2002 meant Spencer's debut in the show ring.  That first show was the first time he had ever been off the property where he was born!  Spencer had never been ridden with  other horses either, not even on a trail ride.  He entered the Lite-Shod Specialty class.  Not only did he behave himself, Spencer took RESERVE!  Way to go!!!

Can you believe Spencer is just barely 2 years old here?

Oh, and have I mentioned that GW has taught Spencer to "fetch" for him? Yep, if GW throws a shovel into the paddock with him, Spencer will pick it up and bring it to GW. Grady Ward says that as soon as he can teach Spencer to use the shovel, he will retire from his Landscaping business and  let Spencer take his place with Grady's son, Curt.

As a 3-year-old, Spencer underwent surgery.  A good stallion  makes a great gelding. However, in Spencer's case, he would have been a great stallion so we are expecting even better from him as an individual.

Grady Ward  plans to retire from the landscaping business soon.  He  wants to devote more time to his artistic flint knapping creations.  He felt he could no longer give his horses the attention he thought they needed.

Therefore, Spencer is now the property of
GW's cousin, Elizabeth Ann Bell,
owner of Mountain Mist Stables
Tracy City, TN.  Plans are in the works to campaign Spencer in the
TWHBEA Versatility Program
next spring.
